The Chromebook has become increasingly popular in recent years. Especially among government institutions and large companies. More than 50 percent of laptops in education are Chromebooks.

The Chromebook is completely different from the traditional laptop, which mostly runs on MacOS or Windows. By 'traditional' we mean any release before 2011, the year the commercial Chromebook was introduced. Now, nine years later, it still takes some getting used to. The world is changing, technology is presenting itself, but adoption is slow. A few years later, it seems as if it has always been this way: Chromebooks promise to become the norm.

Chrome OS

Google wants to take the next step with Chrome OS. The operating system is completely designed for the cloud. Work can be picked up anywhere. At the same time, you remain able to work offline. Connection cannot always be guaranteed. What is unique is the fact that Google, unlike Microsoft, is involved in every Chromebook production. This means that every Chromebook receives the seal of approval from the OS developer, which can be considered a reliable indicator of quality.

ASUS Chromebook Flip C436

To make the new Chromebook Flip C436 as practical as possible for the modern, mobile workforce, ASUS focused on mobility. Among 14" models, the C436 is the lightest and thinnest. Wi-Fi 6 is supported and the model can be used as a tablet.

ASUS' release is so mobile that the user experience is not comparable to working on a laptop. Don't be mistaken, because unlike a tablet, the C436 is particularly powerful. The model delivers enough power to fall into the same category as quality Windows laptops. This is partly thanks to the Intel Core i7 processor, which is part of Intel's Project Athena innovation project. Chips of its kind deliver among other things these spearheads:

  • Blazing fast startup time
  • AI application for development and power
  • Longer battery life (the C436 lasts up to twelve active hours on a full battery
