Every 10 seconds new malware for Android appears

It is therefore not so strange that in the third quarter of 2017 the number of new types of malware discovered has increased by 20 percent compared to the same quarter in 2016. This is reported by G Data in their Mobile Malware report.

Increase in Android malware

Security experts from G Data found 810,695 new malware variants in the third quarter of 2017. This is about 17 percent more than in the second quarter and shows that mobile malware is becoming an increasingly larger problem.

In 2017, the company has found 2,258,387 new malware variants for Android so far, of which more than 810,000 in the third quarter. Since June, an average of 8,815 new forms of malware have been seen daily for the mobile operating system.
