Key Features:

FlashBlade//E offers a better way to efficiently, reliably, and sustainably manage unstructured data growth than is currently possible with disk-based storage. Thanks to its ease of use and attractive pricing, customers can also replace the last disk-based systems in their data centers.

Affordable at scale: The costs for FlashBlade//E come in under $0.20 per GB, including three years of service. The platform starts with a storage capacity of 4PB and is then scalable, with reliable performance.

Highly energy-efficient: FlashBlade//E consumes up to 5x less power than the disk-based systems it replaces. Moreover, the larger the storage capacity, the higher the energy efficiency. Organizations are thus helped to achieve their increasingly important sustainability goals.

Simplicity, reliability, and a future without interruptions: FlashBlade//E is a flexible system that grows with businesses, offering 10-20x higher reliability than disk-based storage systems and without interruptions or 'forklift upgrades'. Thanks to its cloud-like ease, flexibility, and predictable performance, FlashBlade//E is easy to manage, regardless of scale.

FlashBlade//E will be available starting late April 2023. In addition to a traditional purchase, customers have the option to implement FlashBlade//E through a new service level of Pure Storage's Evergreen//One Storage-as-a-Service subscription. This offers pay-as-you-go benefits and a cloud-like experience with the management capabilities of an on-premises implementation.

Why is this important?

For organizations operating globally, it is expected that the amount of stored data will increase tenfold by 2030. For large-scale and price-sensitive workloads currently using disk-based storage, this growth is unmanageable.

Many IT teams face barriers with their disk-based systems. They are difficult to manage, take up a lot of space, and components frequently fail, often leading to outages and the risk of losing valuable data. This means that companies cannot extract maximum value from their data. While modern solutions for file and object storage can eliminate many of these barriers, they have not been a viable option for large unstructured, price-sensitive data repositories until now.

Quote:

"With FlashBlade//E, the original vision of our founder for an all-flash data center is realized. We at Pure Storage are pleased to offer customers the significant benefits of flash – which were once unaffordable – at a TCO lower than that of disk-based storage systems." - Amy Fowler, VP & General Manager, FlashBlade, Pure Storage

"As the growth of unstructured data continues to accelerate among our customers, there is demand for more sustainable and scalable storage solutions for standard workloads. We are excited to meet this need with FlashBlade//E at lower acquisition costs than disk-based solutions while providing the ease and energy savings that Pure Storage is known for." – Brian Bartell, Practice Manager for Primary Storage, WWT

"While the benefits of flash for heavy workloads are widely recognized, the price of disk-based storage has so far hindered the consideration of a complete flash implementation. Nevertheless, there is a clear need for a modern, scalable platform that supports the strong growth of unstructured data. The promise of FlashBlade//E for a cost-effective, energy-efficient, and easier-to-manage solution for standard workloads is a compelling argument for customers to leave disk-based storage behind now." – Scott Sinclair, Practice Director, Enterprise Strategy Group
