"Google and Samsung share the same values when it comes to making technology more accessible to everyone. We are very pleased that the Galaxy S24 series is the first smartphone equipped with Gemini Pro and Imagen 2 on Vertex AI," says Gerben van Walt Meijer, Marketing Manager Mobile eXperiences at Samsung Netherlands. "After extensive testing and comparisons, the teams from Google Cloud and Samsung collaborated to develop the ultimate Gemini-driven AI experience on the Galaxy."

Gemini can quickly understand and combine various types of information, such as text, code, images, and videos. With Samsung applications, users can benefit from the summarization feature in Notes, Voice Recorder, and Keyboard[1]. Additionally, the collaboration provides access to essential Google Cloud features, including security, safety, privacy, and data compliance.

Users of the Galaxy S24 series can also directly utilize Imagen 2, the most advanced text-to-image technology from Google DeepMind to date. This collaboration makes safe and intuitive photo editing capabilities easily accessible. These features can be found in Generative Edit[2] in the S24 Gallery app.

In this collaboration, Samsung is a pioneer as one of the first testers of Gemini Ultra, Google's most powerful model for complex tasks. The S24 series also utilizes Gemini Nano, an on-device Language Model (LLM) provided as part of the Android 14 operating system, the most efficient model of Gemini for on-device tasks.

"Thanks to the collaboration with Samsung, we see opportunities to make generative AI accessible to millions of people, allowing us to foster and enhance connections," says Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud. "Gemini provides Samsung developers the opportunity to benefit from good infrastructure, leading performance, and flexibility of Google Cloud. This enables them to create safe and reliable AI applications on Samsung smartphones.

[1] Galaxy AI features may require an internet connection, signing in to a Samsung account, and/or updating to the latest Android version. Product functionality may depend on app and device settings. Some features may not be compatible with certain apps or require additional software downloads, such as language packs. The availability of the service may vary by country, region, or market. Accuracy of results is not guaranteed.

Refer to the local Samsung website for detailed specifications and terms.

[2] A network connection and a Samsung account are required for Generative Edit. Editing with Generative Edit results in a reduced photo size of up to 12MP. When saving, a visible watermark is placed over the photo to indicate that the photo was generated by AI. The accuracy and reliability of the generated output is not guaranteed.
